6 Exercícios sobre Superlativos em Inglês

Eles, assim como os comparativos, utilizam uma estrutura própria da gramática inglesa, isto é, para poder usarmos essa função na língua inglesa, não poderemos fazer como fazemos em português.

São usados para indicar uma comparação onde determinado aspecto supera todos os outros, ou seja, é um adjetivo que indica “o mais” de algum elemento.

Muitas vezes, as traduções literais nos auxiliam em várias ocasiões, mas no caso dos superlativos, será necessário entender como a estrutura funciona.

Quando os adjetivos atuam como superlativos, a maioria deles recebe “EST” no final.

Por exemplo:

• Old = The oldest / Velho = O mais velho

The old man = O homem velho

The oldest man = O homem mais velho

 

➡  Porém, em alguns adjetivos, não será possível usar “EST” como sufixo, e nestes casos, usaremos “THE MOST”.

Por exemplo:

• Beautiful = The most beautiful / Bonita = A mais bonita

The beautiful city = A cidade bonita

The most beautiful city = A cidade mais bonita
